Since the last attempts (FLEX) failed, Adobe tries again on defining its own platform using Flash technology, instead of some powerful web apps in FLEX. This time is bringing the web on to the desktop. Adobe Integrated Runtime or Air is called. Similar to the Java, a runtime environment allows user to run / install the cross platform “app” with fast local database on to user’s computer. No needed to be online all the time, the data will sync automatically once connected.

It may not sound very much attractive. Two factors will demarcate its success (or failure), will be its speed and security.
